All Good Things Must End

Lindsay's time as a Moses Lake High School Drill team member has come to an end. She has put in three fun-filled, tear-invoking, body-aching, belly-laughing years. She has hated some moments, but loved even more. She has made great friends, experienced things she will never ever forget and have lots of stories to tell and pictures to show her own children some day. But sadly with growing up and graduating and moving on, the time has come to say good-bye. The drill team year ended with a fun banquet at Chico's pizza with the senior girls looking forward to their next phase in life and holding on to all their memories!

Here is Lindsay with her Coach and some of the girls (and of course her parents and sister!)

Decision Made!

Lindsay has made her BIG decision! She is going to Arizona State University and is going to be a Sun Devil! I can't believe how time flies, Danny is almost done with his first year of college, Lindsay is going away to college next fall and McKenna will start high school! All I can say is... WOW!

Mom's Weekend!

This past weekend was Mom's Weekend at WSU. With Lindsay gone to Cancun and Ron ending up having to work, I took McKenna with me and we joined Danny on Saturday. First we hit the Bookie to stock up on our Cougar wear, Dan took us to lunch at the Southside Cafe, we found a purse party but got there after the mad rush and nothing was left, had ice cream at Ferdinand's, went to a craft fair, took 4 of Dan's friends to dinner and ended the evening with a Huey Lewis and the News concert! Huey can still ROCK!!

Being the diligent person I am, I charged my camera battery the night before so I could capture all these moments with my first child in his freshman year...and of course left the battery charging on the kitchen counter! ARRRGGGGG. Here's some cell phone pictures ---

At That Age?

This is me...and anyone who knows me well, knows that I do not take aging in stride. I do not embrace my lines and wrinkles. I don't like being on that slippery slope towards 50. Don't acknowledge my birthday? Fine with me. And I honestly don't know who that person staring back at me in the mirror is. So you can imagine how I felt yesterday when someone asked me how old I am. I answered 46, and they said,"Wow, you really look good for that age." Now I know this is supposed to be a compliment, but when I said "ahh, thank you?", they replied..."No really, for THAT age, you look good."

So maybe I shouldn't fight it, maybe I should embrace the fact that everything is heading south and there is not a darn thing I can do about it, maybe I should become content with who I am...yeah right!

Now where is that number for the plastic surgeon...

Drill Team at State

Yesterday we spent the day at the Yakima Dome watching something like 38 Dance/Drill teams from Washington compete for the State Championship. It is a long day, but all these teams are pretty good and entertaining to watch. Our girls should be so proud of themselves for the dedication and hard work they put into making the Molahiettes a team. With losing a girl at the last minute and a couple hard weeks of sweat, tears and illnesses they came home with the second place trophy for their Drill routine, which is nothing to balk at! These girls are all beautiful, kind and talented and we are very proud be a part of this team!

Decisions, decisions...

We just got back from taking Lindsay to Arizona State University to check out their Downtown Phoenix campus - this campus is only about 2 1/2 years old and very, very nice. The classrooms were nice and all the desks and tables have outlets for the kids computers, phones, ipods etc. The buildings were nice and comfortable, the dorms were nice with a bathroom for every two rooms and to top it off there are washers and dryers on every floor and the washing machine will TEXT your phone and tell you when to come put your clothes in the dryer!! I don't know about Lindsay, but I'm planning on moving there! We also walked around the Tempe campus which is also very nice, went to a Mariners spring training game, visited the Phoenix Zoo and to top it off, had dinner with Ron's brother Art, wife Mary and her family. We had a very fun time and now it's getting closer for Lindsay to make the big decision!

Busy Weekend!

Had a busy and fun weekend...Danny came home for spring break, the girls went to Spotlight Dance competition in Seattle and Lindsay went to the Sweethearts Dance. Ron and I had to split and divide - we all went to Seattle on Friday, watched McKenna do her solo and Lindsay's team do all their numbers, Lindsay and I came back Saturday morning and did all the pre-dance primping...unfortunately Lindsay came down with strep throat and couldn't really enjoy her evening. Ron stayed in Seattle with McKenna and watched all her teams numbers on Saturday, (I really hated to miss that, I haven't seen all her dances yet). Said hello to Danny a split second before he left for a friends house, then my friend Vickie and I took off to take the group pictures of all the decked out teenagers!
