Christmas Cheer!

The whole family: The five of us, Julia's parents, brother, uncle, sister and two nephews all spent last week and Christmas in Mazatlan! The weather was perfect...a balmy 85 degrees, the beach was beautiful, the food great, the company excellant. The only thing wrong was that Ron had to come back the Monday before Christmas for work. Our good friends, Rick and Becky Hourigan took Ron in and fed him a yummy Christmas dinner, so at least he wasn't ALL alone! The kids and I missed Ron and wished he was with us, but we hunkered down and survived the surf, atv ride, kayaking etc. all by ourselves! I hope everyone had a great Christmas and will have a very Happy New Year!

P.S. I give up...our system will NOT download pictures without taking hours and hours. So let's pretend. Here's a picture of the view from our room, us relaxing on the beach, fun times, and the snow we came home to! Enjoy.

How They've Grown!

Christmas is coming and I don't think it's the geese that are getting fat, I think it's this family with all the delicious treats our neighbor Arlene brought us! We are getting ready to take off for the holidays, and I wanted to make sure I said "MERRY CHRISTMAS"! to everyone and share some pictures from through the years.

Thanksgiving!

Last year we were lying on the beach in Costa Rica, enjoying the warmth and having a mexican meal for our Thanksgiving dinner...

This year our relatives, George & Mary, "the goofie Newfies" are here and we enjoyed a house smelling of roasted turkey and all the fixins'...

Both were great!
I am thankful for:
family
friends
the space heater
warm cuddly dogs
the policeman who didn't give me a speeding ticket
and many many more things

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Apple Cup!

It's so good to have Danny home for the week! He's home and plunked down on the couch with his dad and sisters watching the Apple Cup - COUGS WON 16-13! And best yet...they beat the DAWGS (sorry Uncle Mark). There's nothing like football and junk food!

Twilight

Not sure how they did it, but for their daughter's 17th birthday, friends of ours, Peggy and David Earl arranged a private showing of the movie Twilight! The girls were VERY excited and the movie was very good...Happy Birthday Kylie - you have the coolest parents ever!

Lindsay turns 17!

Today is Lindsay's 17th birthday. She has turned into such a beautiful young woman and we are very proud of her.
Today started with panic, Lindsay overslept and was late for drill team practice...luckily she brought cinnamon rolls for everyone and her coach forgave her. There were a couple of cakes and a huge cookie brought to her each period from her friend Ashley, Caitlynn made her muffins, mom sent cookies and favors to 4th period and cupcakes to ballet class. Last but not least, there is birthday cake tonight! Whew...what a way to turn 17!

WSU Dad's Weekend

GO COUGS! Well at least Ron had fun seeing Danny and his friend Alec, the Cougs sadly lost the game, but the weather held out long enough that they didn't have to sit in the rain! Here's Ron and Danny with Curtis and Alec Robillard!

Blogging...hmmm

Blogging...not sure why I want to try it, not sure if anyone is interested enough to read them! I am hoping that this will be a way to keep up with family and friends, post pictures etc.

Halloween felt like a good time to start, we had our annual "Pumpkin Carving Party" last weekend and it was loads of fun. Our normal group is getting older (the kids not the parents!), so this year we invited several families from Ron's work that have small children. It was fun to see how excited kids get to carve pumpkins and even more fun to see Danny and his friend Alec (who both came up from WSU) light their pumpkins on fire. They even had AJ light his...I'm thinking this is a right of passage for the boys!

The pumpkins looked great all lined up and lit at the end of the night.

Tomorrow night we become that family that puts a bucket of candy out for the trick-or-treaters! The high school football team made the play-offs - GO CHIEFS - and the drill team (Lindsay) is dancing during half time. Yes I see Lindsay dance all the time, but I've never seen her in the "Thriller" number, where they get to wear freaky make-up, rat their hair and crawl across the field...good times.

Here's hoping everyone has a frightful Halloween and we'll blog again soon!
